Introduction to Ledger® Live
Ledger® Live is the official desktop and mobile application that allows you to manage your Ledger hardware wallet. With Ledger® Live, you can:
- Check your cryptocurrency portfolio in real-time
- Send and receive crypto securely
- Install and manage multiple apps on your Ledger device
- Update your device firmware
System Requirements
Before installing Ledger® Live, ensure your system meets the following requirements:
- Windows 10 or later / macOS 10.13 or later / Linux
- At least 200MB of free storage
- Internet connection for updates and transactions
- Ledger hardware wallet (Ledger Nano S or Ledger Nano X)
Installing Ledger® Live
- Go to the official Ledger website: Ledger Live Download
- Select your operating system and download the installer
- Run the installer and follow on-screen instructions
- Open Ledger® Live after installation
Creating Your Ledger® Live Account
Once Ledger® Live is installed, follow these steps:
- Click “Get Started”
- Select “Initialize as a new device” or “Restore from recovery phrase”
- Follow the prompts to connect your Ledger hardware wallet
- Create a secure password for Ledger® Live
Tip: Use a unique and strong password. Ledger® Live encrypts your data locally, but your password adds an extra layer of security.
Navigating Ledger® Live
The main dashboard shows:
- Portfolio overview
- Accounts for each crypto asset
- Notifications for updates or security alerts
- Access to Ledger® Live Manager for app management
Sending and Receiving Cryptocurrency
To send crypto:
- Open Ledger® Live and navigate to Accounts
- Select the cryptocurrency you want to send
- Click Send and enter recipient address
- Confirm transaction on your Ledger device
To receive crypto:
- Open Ledger® Live and navigate to Accounts
- Select the cryptocurrency you want to receive
- Click Receive to view your wallet address
- Share this address with the sender
Managing Apps on Ledger Device
Ledger® Live Manager allows you to install or uninstall apps for different cryptocurrencies:
- Connect your Ledger device

- Install/uninstall apps with one click
